Hold It With An Open Hand

Nothing is truly yours to keep
Hold it with an open hand
Then if God requires it from you
You will be able to stand

Nothing is truly in your possession
Hold it with an open hand
Then if God chooses to redefine you
You will be able to stand

Only One should we hold and keep
Holding Him with a closed hand
Just One should we never let go of
This One will help us to stand

Only One has us in His possession
Holding us with a closed hand
This One is Jesus our Lord and Savior
He makes us able to stand

Beautiful. Well said. "Hold things loosly" as Maury Evans always says about ministry.

We're privledged to be God's hands and feet and yet this ministry is not our own

I followed your link from a coment you left on my blog. I like the poem, might use it as some liturgy if that is okay?

Please keep up the quality and the personal touch. I wish I was more creative!
Yours in Him

Avey, thank you for the compliment. I don't mind at all if you use it. I'm trying to remember what your blog was...your profile isn't public so I can't get to the link there. What's your blog?

Anyways, thank you Auntie and Juls too for your comments! I love you guys and miss you bunches!!!

Hi Symmie,
Thank you for reminding us that the only thing or person we should hold on to in this world is OUR HEAVENLY FATHER.
